In subsections (a) and (b) of this section, the references to a "campaign
account" are substituted for the former reference to "depository or
depositories" and "depository" for consistency with current terminology. In subsection (a)(2)(i) of this section, the reference to a campaign account
"in a financial institution" is added for clarity and accuracy. In subsection (a)(2)(ii) of this section, the former requirement that a
campaign account "properly" identify a name is deleted as surplusage. In subsection (a)(3) of this section, the former reference to "contributions in
furtherance of a candidacy, political committee or central committee" is
deleted in light of the use of the term "funds". In subsection (b)(1) of this section, the reference to making a
"disbursement" is substituted for the former reference to "pay any
expense" for clarity and consistency with other provisions of this subtitle. Also in subsection (b)(1) of this section, the former reference to "including
political clubs," is deleted as included in the reference to a campaign
finance entity. See General Revisor's Note to this title. In subsection (b)(2)(i) of this section, the reference to a receipt that is
"provided to" the campaign finance entity is substituted for the former
reference to a receipt that is "retained by" the entity for accuracy and in
light of § 13-221(b) of this subtitle which governs the retention of the
records of a campaign finance entity. In subsection (b)(2)(ii) of this section, the former reference to the "nature"
of the expense is deleted in light of the requirement that the expense be
reported as an expenditure by the campaign finance entity. In subsection (c)(2) of this section, the former reference to a "ledger" is
deleted in light of the reference to an "account book". In subsection (c)(5) of this section, the former reference to receipts "that
are retained by the treasurer" is deleted in light of the requirement that
each petty cash expenditure "be supported by a receipt". Also in subsection (c)(5) of this section, the defined term "campaign finance
report" is substituted for the former reference to "campaign fund report".
