AN ACT concerning

State Fire Prevention Commission - Fire Sprinklers — Licensure and Regulation

FOR the purpose of requiring the State Fire Prevention Commission to adopt regulations
for the licensure and regulation of certain persons who install fire sprinkler systems;
authorizing the Commission to require an examination, charge a fee, adopt
regulations, and suspend, revoke, or deny a license to a person who installs fire
sprinkler systems to comply with the Commission's licensing and regulatory
requirements; authorizing the Commission to define certain terms; requiring a
license for certain fire sprinkler contractor services; exempting certain fire sprinkler
system maintenance activities from licensing; requiring the State Fire Marshal to
collect certain fees, keep certain records, pay certain moneys into a certain fund,
investigate certain complaints, and issue the lire sprinkler contractor's licenses; defining
a certain term; providing for the construction of this Act; and generally relating to
persons who install fire sprinkler systems.

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That the Laws of Maryland read as follows:

(e) (1) The State Fire Prevention Commission shall adopt regulations to
establish and administer a fee schedule for:

(i) Reviewing building plans to ensure compliance with the State Fire
Prevention Code; and
