The Honorable Thomas V. Mike Miller, Jr.
President of the Senate
State House

Dear Mr. President:
In accordance with Article II, Section 17 of the Maryland Constitution, I have today
vetoed Senate Bill 436.
This bill alters provisions in existing law relating to the issuance of permits by the State
Board of Pharmacy to distribute dialysis drugs and devices to the homes of dialysis
patients.
House Bill 1009, which was passed by the General Assembly and signed by me on May 8,
1997, accomplishes the same purpose. Therefore, it is not necessary for me to sign Senate
Bill 436.
Sincerely,
Parris N. Glendening
Governor
