1997 LAWS OF MARYLAND

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That:

(1) In accordance with Title 19 of the Education Article, each of the following
projects is approved as a project for an academic facility, and the University of Maryland
System may issue, sell, and deliver bonds in the total principal amount of $18,096,000 for
the purposes of financing and refinancing the costs of these projects:

(A) University of Maryland College Park (Prince George's County)

(1) Steam Plant Improvements

(2) Capital Equipment: Maryland Center for the Performing Arts

(3) Capital Equipment: Technology Advancement Program Facility

(4) Symons Hall; Renovations

(B) Towson State University (Baltimore County)
(1) 7800 York Road, Towson, Maryland

(C) University of Maryland Biotechnology Institute (Baltimore City)
(1) Capital Equipment: Medical Biotechnology Center

(2) In accordance with Title 19 of the Education Article, each of the following
capital facilities renewal projects (statewide) is hereby approved as a project for an
academic facility, and the University of Maryland System may issue, sell, and deliver
bonds in the principal amount of $11,904,000 for the purposes of financing and
refinancing the costs of these projects:

(A) University of Maryland at Baltimore (Baltimore City)

(1) Emergency Generator Replacement: Howard Hall, Bressler

Research Building

Mechanical and Electrical Infrastructure Upgrade: Nursing

Building

(B)

(3) Heat Wheel/Heat Recovery Improvement: Pharmacy Hall

(4) Electrical Infrastructure Upgrade: Hayden Harris Hall
University of Maryland College Park (Prince George's County)

(1) Electrical Distribution System Upgrade, Phased

(2) Security Lighting and Emergency Phone Improvements, Phased

(3) Boiler Plant Improvement, Phased

(4) Building Exterior and Infrastructure Improvements, Phased

(5) HVAC System Upgrades, Phased
