PARRIS N. GLENDENING, Governor

Ch. 120

SECTION 3. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That, of the appointees to the
four newly created positions on the Board of Community College Trustees for Baltimore
County on July 1, 1997:

(1) one shall reside in Councilmanic District 2;

(2) one shall reside in Councilmanic District 3;

(3) one shall reside in Councilmanic District 4; and

(4) one shall reside in Councilmanic District 7.
SECTION 4. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That:

(1) the at-large position that currently is occupied by a resident of
Councilmanic District 1 is converted to a councilmanic position and all future appointees
to that position shall reside in Councilmanic District 1;

(2) the at-large position that currently is occupied by a resident of
Councilmanic District 5 is converted to a councilmanic position and all future appointees
to that position shall reside in Councilmanic District 5;

(3) of the one councilmanic position and two at-large positions that
currently are occupied by residents of Councilmanic District 6:

(i) two of the positions shall be councilmanic positions and all future
appointees to those positions shall reside in Councilmanic District 6; and

(ii) one of the positions shall be the at-large position and all future
appointments to that position shall be made from residents of Baltimore County at large.

SECTION 5. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall take effect
July 1, 1997.

(Senate Bill 868)

AN ACT concerning

Education - Public Schools - Hearing Examiners for Proceedings Involving Students

FOR the purpose of authorizing the county boards of education in the State to have
certain proceedings involving the suspension or expulsion of students that come
before the boards take place before a hearing examiner in accordance with certain
procedures.

BY repealing and reenacting, without amendments,
Article - Education
Section 4-205(c) and 6-202
