SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That the Laws of Maryland read as follows:

Article - Commercial Law

9-401.

(8) In addition to any other authorized means of filing, a filing that must be made
with the State Department of Assessments and Taxation under this section may be made
by [facsimile]:

(A) FACSIMILE transmission under § 1-201 of the Corporations and
Associations Article; OR

(B) SUBMITTING THE INFORMATION REQUIRED IN A FILING BY
ELECTRONIC DATA INTERCHANGE.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall take effect

October 1, 1997.

FOR the purpose of amending certain provisions of the Maryland Vehicle Law to
