PARRIS N. GLENDENING, Governor                                   Ch. 36

Throughout this section, the references to a certificate of "authority" are
substituted for the former references to a certificate of "compliance" for
consistency throughout this subtitle and to conform to administrative practice.

The only other changes are in style.

REVISOR'S NOTE: This section is new language derived without substantive
change from former CA § 6-410.

In subsection (a)(4) of this section, the former phrase "from time to time" is
deleted as surplusage.

In subsection (c) of this section, the limitation "[e]xcept as prohibited by this
subtitle" is added to state explicitly that which only was implied in the former
law, i.e., that a society's powers under this subsection are limited by the
provisions that appear elsewhere in this subtitle.

Also in subsection (c) of this section, the phrase "for which it is established",
which modifies "purposes", is added for clarity.
