81 Alexander Woolford Be it remembered that the following Bill of sale 85 from Ex.d was recorded on the 3.d day of April 1848, To wit: Tho. C. Jones & This Indenture made this the twenty first day of John Jones of Col. March in the year of Our Lord one thousand eight hundred and forty eight, between Thomas C. Jones and John Jones of Col. Executors of Col. John Jones dec.d, both of Dorchester County, state of Maryland, of the one part, and Alexander Woolford of the County and state aforesaid, of the other part, Witnesseth, that the said Thomas C. Jones and John Jones of Col. Executors of Col. John Jones dec.d, for and in consideration of the sum of one hundred & fifty dollars, current money, to them in hand paid by the said Alexander Woolford, at and before the sealing and delivery of these presents, the receipt of which is hereby acknowledged, hath granted, bargained and sold, and by these presents doth grant, bargain & sell unto the said Alexander Woolford, his Executors, Administrators and Assigns, one negro Man named Isaac belonging to the Estate of the aforesaid Col. John Jones dec.d, for the full term of four years from the first day of this present month March, at the expiration of the time of servitude above mentioned the said Negro Isaac to be free. To have and to hold the said Negro Man Isaac unto the said Alexander Woolford, his Executors, Administrators and Assigns, to his & their own use and benefit during the said time or term above mentioned and no longer - Now the said parties fully agree to all the matters & conditions set forth in this bill of sale, or instrument of writing In Witness whereof the said Thomas C. Jones and John Jones of Col. Executors as aforesaid, and Alexander Woolford aforesaid, have hereunto set their hands and seals the day and year first herein before written. Tho.s C. Christopher State of Maryland, Dorchester County, To wit: Be it remembered & it is hereby Certified that on this twenty first day of March in the year of Our Lord one thousand eight hundred and forty eight, before me the subscriber, one of the Justices of the Peace of the state of Maryland, in and for Dorchester County, personally appears Thomas C. Jones, and John Jones of Col. Executors of Col. John Jones aforesaid, together with Alexander Woolford aforesaid, who did Acknowledge the foregoing instrument of writing or bill of sale, to be their act & deed, according to the purport, true intent and meaning of the same and the Acts of Assembly in such case made & provided.
