49. James Dixon Be it remembered that the following Bill of sale was recorded 60 from Ex.d on the 5.th day of January 1848, To wit: Tho. Jackson Know all men by these presents that I Thomas Jackson of Dorchester County and state of Maryland for and in consideration of the sum of one hundred and fifteen dollars to me in hand paid before the sealing and delivery hereof the receipt whereof I do hereby Acknowledge, have granted, bargained and sold and by these presents do grant, bargain and sell unto James Dixon, his Executors, Administrators & Assigns. Fifty Barrels Corn, one Black mare, one Sorrel Horse, one Yoke Oxen, three head Hogs, five head Sheep, nine head Turkeys, Eight head Geese, three stacks Blades, seven Top stacks, one p.r Cart wheels & wood rack To have and to hold the said described property above bargained & sold to the said James Dixon, his executors, Administrators and Assigns forever to his and their only proper use and benefit. In testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand and affixed my seal this fourth day of January 1848. Signed, sealed & delivered in the presence of his Robert Bell J. P. Jno Donovan Thomas x Jackson (seale) mark Maryland Dorchester County, To wit: On this fourth of Jany 1848 before me one of the Justices of the Peace in and for said County appeared Thomas Jackson and Acknowledges the within instrument of writing to be his Act and deed according to the true intent and meaning thereof and the Acts of Assembly in such case made & provided Robert Bell J. P. Dorchester County Sct. On the 4.th day of January 1848 then came before me a Justice of the Peace in and for said County James Dixon and made Oath on the Holy Evangely of Almighty God that the consideration mentioned in the within Bill of sale is bona fide as therein set forth. Know all men by these presents that I William Rea of the Town of Cambridge in the state of Maryland for and in consideration of the sum of seventy two dollars current money to me in hand paid by James Dixon of the said Town & State aforesaid at and before the sealing and delivering of these presents the receipt whereof I the said William Rea do hereby acknowledge, have granted, bargained and sold and by these presents do grant, bargain & sell unto the said James Dixon, his Executors, Administrators and Assigns all the goods, household stuff, implements and furniture particularly mentioned and described hereinafter that is to say one Bed, Bedstead and |
