within mentioned and made oath on the holy Evangely of Almighty God That
the consideration set forth in this bill of sale is true and bona fide as therein
set forth according to the true meaning of the act of Assembly of 1846 Chapter
271 made and provided.
Acknowledged before                                       Samuel Abbot   J. P.

Received the first day of December 1851 the sum of one dollar in lieu
of a stamp on this bill of sale.

State of Maryland      Dorchester County to wit:  Be it remembered and it
    Exd   from             is hereby certified that the following Bond was
Shadrack Mitchell      received and recorded on the first day of December
             &                 1851
Others                       State of Maryland Dorchester County to wit:  Know
                                  all men by these presence that we Shadrack Mitchell
James A. Stewart B. I. Goldsborough and Samuel D. LeCompte all of Dorchester
County and the State of Maryland yeomen are held and firmly bound
unto the state of Maryland in the full and just sum of five thousand three
hundred and thirty three dollars and thirty three and a third cents current
money of ^the^ said state to the payment whereof we hereunto bind ourselves our
heirs executors and administrators jointly and severally by these presence
In Witness whereof we have hereunto set our hands and affixed our seals
this first day of December in the year of our lord eighteen hundred
and fifty one.  The Condition of the above obligation is such that
in case the above bounden Shadrack Mitchell shall perform faithfully
The Office of Register of Wills for Dorchester County aforesaid.  Then the
above obligation to be void otherwise to be and remain in full force
