Le Compte Caleb Hubbert Be it remembered that the following Bill of from Ex.d Sale was recorded November 23.d 1847, To wit: Rachel Meekins Know all men by these presents that I Rachel Meekins of Dorchester County in the state of Maryland for and in consideration of the sum of one hundred dollars current money to me in hand paid by Calip Hubbert of Dorchester County and state of Maryland at and before the sealing and delivery of these presents the receipt whereof I the said Rachel Meekins do hereby acknowledge, have granted, bargained and sold unto the said Calip Hubbord, his Executors, Administrators and Assigns one Negro woman Eliza, one Girl Polly and one Girl child Margaret Ann which said Negroes are now remaining in my possession and now in the occupation of Doctor Henry Gross To have and to hold said Negroes above bargained and sold or mentioned or intended so to be to the said Calip Hubbord, his Executors, Administrators and Assigns forever And I the said Rachel Meekins for myself, my heirs, executors and Administrators all and singular the said Negroes unto the said Calip Hubbord, his Executors, Administrators and Assigns against me the said Rachel Meekins, my Executors Administrators and against all and every other person or persons whatsoever shall and will warrant and forever defend by these presents of ll and singular the said Negroes and I the said Rachel Meekins will put the said Calip Hubbord in full possession by delivering to him the said Calip Hubbord all and singular the said Negroes above named on the first day of January next. In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this twentieth day of November in the year of Our Lord Eighteen hundred & forty seven her Test Fielder G.
