293. of the County and State aforesaid, at & before the sealing & delivering of these presents, the receipt whereof I, the said Caroline Wheatley, do hereby Acknowledge, have granted, bargained & sold, and by these presents do grant, bargain and sell, unto the said Collins Vinson, his Executors, Administrators and Assigns, A Negro Woman named Lamby, 22 years old, and slave for life, and her child about three weeks old To have and to hold the said Negro Woman named Lamby and her child above bargained & sold, or mentioned & intended to so to be, to the said Collins Vinson, his heirs & Assigns forever: And I, the said Caroline Wheatley, for myself, my heirs, executors & Administrators, the said Negro Girl named Lamby and her child, they being slaves for life, unto the said Collins Vinson, his heirs an Assigns, against me, the said Caroline Wheatley, my Executors & Administrators, and against all and every other person or persons whatsoever, shall & will warrant and forever defend by these presents, unto him the said Collins Vinson as afs.d In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my & seal on this 21.st day of Nov A. D. 1850. Signed in presence of me Caroline Wheatley (seal) J. H. Bell State of Md. Dorchester County, To wit: On this 21.st day of Nov.r in the year of Our Lord Eighteen hundred and fifty, before me the subscriber one of the Justices of the Peace in & for s.d County, personally appeared Caroline Wheatley & acknowledged the within Bill of sale, or instrument of writing to be her Act and deed for the purpose therein mentioned At the same time personally appears Collins Vinson and made Oath on the Holy Evangely of Almighty God that the consideration set forth in the said Bill of sale is true and bona fide as therein set forth, according to the Act of Assembly in such cases made & provided. Acknowledged before me Joseph H. Bell J. P. William W. Crawford Be it remembered & it is hereby certified Ex.d from 105 that the following Mortgage Bill of Hugh MaGuire sale was recorded on the 2.d day of December A. D. 1850, To wit: This Indenture made this second day of December in the year of Our Lord Eighteen hundred & fifty, between Hugh Maguire of Dorchester County & state of Maryland of the one part, and and William W. Crawford of Dorchester County and state aforesaid, of the other part Whereas the said Hugh Maguire owes and stands justly indebted to the said William W. Crawford on Judgment and store amount in the sum of One hundred and ninety three dollars and eight cents; Del.d to W.m W. Crawford Dec.r 30.th 1850. |
