29 be utterly void to all intents and purposes any thing herein contained to the contrary notwithstanding And the said Joseph Bradshaw doth covenant that he the said Joseph Bradshaw, his heirs, Executors or Administrators shall & will well and truly pay or cause to be paid unto the said Perry North, his Executors, Administrators or Assigns the said sum of Eight hundred dollars current money together with interest for the same at such time or times as he shall thereunto be required by the said Perry North And the said Joseph Bradshaw his Executors and Administrators all and singular the said Negroes by these presents granted, bargained & sold unto the said Francis I. Henry and William A. Sulivane, their Executors, Administrators & Assigns against him the said Joseph Bradshaw, his Executors and Administrators and all and every other person and persons whatsoever shall and will warrant and defend by these presents. In testimony whereof the said Joseph Bradshaw hath hereunto set his hand and seal on the day and year first above written his Signed, sealed & delivered in the Joseph x Bradshaw (Seal) presence of W.m W. Le Compte J.P. mark State of Maryland Dorchester County, To wit: Be it remembered and it is hereby Certified that on this twelfth day of October Eighteen hundred and forty seven before the subscriber a Justice of the Peace of the State of Maryland in and for Dorchester County aforesaid personally appears Joseph Bradshaw he being known to me to be the person who is named and described as and professing to be a party to the foregoing Deed of Indenture and doth acknowledge the said Indenture instrument of writing to be his act and deed. In testimony whereof I hereunto subscribe my name on the day & year aforesaid W.m W. Le Compte J. P. Solomon Frazier Be it remembered that the following Bill of sale from Ex.d was recorded on the 25.th day of October 1847, To wit: Elizabeth Frazier Know all men by these presents that I Elizabeth Frazier of Dorchester County and state of Maryland for and in consideration of the sum of Eighty five dollars current Money in hand paid by Solomon Frazier of the County and state aforesaid at and before the sealing and delivery hereof the receipt whereof I do hereby acknowledge, have granted, bargained & sold and by these presents do grant, bargain & sell unto the said Thomas Frazier his Executors, Administrators and Assigns one Yoke of Stears & Cart, one Bed, Bedstead & furniture, one Cupboard and Contents, nine head Hogs and five head Cattle all of which property is now in my possession To have and to hold the same described property above bargained and sold to the said Thomas Frazier, his heirs, executors, Administrators and Assigns forever |
