Dorchester County State of Maryland To wit:  On this 13.th day of Novr 1849 personally
appeared Garrett McBride and acknowledged the within Bill of Sale or Instrument of
Writing to be his act and Deed for true intent and meaning thereof
                                           Acknowledged before
At the same time personally appeared William Bell party Grantee in the within Bill of
Sale and makes Oath on the Holy Evangely of Almighty God that the Consideration
Set forth in this Bill of Sale is true and bonafide as therein set forth

State of Maryland                   Be it remembered that the following Bond was
Ex.d      from         75             recorded on the 12.th day of November 1849.  To wit
John Richardson & others      {Stamp}   Know all men by these presents that
                                            {Six Dol.}  we, John Richardson, John Dorsey,
James Fooks, James Vickers, Joseph Bradshaw, James A. Byns, of
Dorchester County in the State of Maryland, are held & firmly bound unto
the State of Maryland in the full & just sum of Twenty six thousand
six hundred and sixty six dollars sixty six & two third Cents, current
money, to be paid to the said State or its certain Attorney, to the
which payment well & truly to be made & done, we bind ourselves,
our heirs, executors & Administrators jointly and severally, firmly by these
presents.  Sealed with our seals & dated this twelfth day of November
in the year of Our Lord Eighteen hundred & forty nine.
The Condition of the above Obligation is such that if the above
bounden John Richardson, as Sheriff of Dorchester County, do & shall
well & faithfully execute the same Office in all things appertaining
thereto, and shall also render to the several Officers within this State a
just & true account of all fees placed in his hands for collection
within the time limitted by law, and shall also well & truly pay all
sums of money received by him, and also collect & pay all public
dues, fines & forfeitures which are due or belonging to the State,
and shall also well & faithfully execute & return all writs, process
and warrants to him directed & delivered, and shall also pay all
deliver to the person or persons entitled to receive the same all sum
or sums of Money, Tobacco, goods, chattels or property, by him levied,
seized or taken agreeably to the directions of the writ, process or
warrant under which the same shall have been levied, seized or
taken, and shall also keep & detain in safe custody all & every
person or persons committed to his custody, or by him taken in
execution, or who shall be committed for ^the^ want of bail, without
suffering them or any of them to escape or depart from his custody,
and shall also satisfy & pay all Judgments which shall or may
be rendered against him as Sheriff, and shall also well & truly
execute and perform the several duties required of, or imposed upon
