Dorchester County, To wit:  On the second day of June 1845 personally
appeared before me the subscriber a Justice of the Peace in and for the
County aforesaid George W. Wingate and Charles L. Chaplain and made
the following Oath, to wit:  We George W. Wingate and Charles L.
Chaplain subscribing Witnesses to the above Bond do make Oath
that Thomas Wingate, William B. Dail, James B. Chaplain,
Samuel D. LeCompte, Levin Mowbray and John H. Hodson, obligors
mentioned in the said Bond did severally in our presence sign, seal
and deliver the said Bond as their Act and deed for the purposes
therein mentioned.  Sworn before me on the day above mentioned
                                                                                     Robt Bell
Approved by the Commissioners of Dorchester County June 3.d 1845.
                                           Test      William Rea Clerk C. D. C.


State of Maryland      Be it remembered that the following Bond
Ex.d   from                was recorded on the 9.th day of June 1845, To wit:
William Creighton      Maryland sct.   Know all men by these presents
       & others             that we William Creighton, William Rea, Jn.o
                                 R. Creighton, Jeremiah C. Wright                  of
Dorchester County are held and firmly bound unto the State of Maryland
in the full and just sum of Fifteen thousand dollars current money
of the United States to be paid to the State of Maryland to the which
payment well and truly to be made and done we bind ourselves and
every of us and every of our heirs, executors and administrators in the
whole and for the whole jointly and severally firmly by these presents
sealed with our seals and dated this 3.d day of June in the year of
Our Lord one thousand eight hundred and forty five.
The Condition of the above Obligation is such that if the above bounden
William Creighton shall well and faithfully discharge the duties
of Treasurer of the Primary Schools of Dorchester County according to
law then the above obligation shall be void otherwise it is to be and
remain in full force and virtue in law;      Signed, sealed and
delivered in the Presence of                  William Creighton   (seal)
