                            Dorchester County, To wit:  on the 15 day of April 1844
personally appeared before me the subscriber a Justice of the Peace in and for Dorchester
County John Newton and Algernon Thomas and made the following Oath, To wit:
"We John Newton and Algernon Thomas subscribing witnesses to the above Bond
do make Oath that George W. Wingate, James Dixon and Thomas Dail obligors
mentioned in the said Bond did severally in our presence sign, seal and deliver the
said Bond as their act and deed for the purposes therein mentioned.  Sworn
before me on the day above mentioned                              Charles Corkran


State of Maryland      Be it remembered that the following Bond was recorded
       from      Ex.d       on the 15.th day of April 1844, To wit:
Francis Higgins           Know all men by these presents that we Francis Higgins, James
                                  Higgins and Thomas K. Smith of Dorchester County and state of
Maryland are held and firmly bound unto the State of Maryland in the full and just sum of
two thousand dollars current money of the United States to be paid to the said State of Maryland
or its certain Attorny to which payment well and truly to be made and done we bind ourselves
our heirs, executors and administrators jointly and severally firmly by these presents.  Sealed
with our seals and dated this 15.th day of April A. D. 1844.  The Condition of the above
obligation is such that if the above bounden Francis Higgins shall well & faithfully
execute the Office of Constable in the Town of New Market in Dorchester County in all
things appertaining thereto and shall also well and truly account for all monies placed
in hands for collection and shall also well and truly pay all sums of money received by him
agreeably to an Act of the General Assembly passed at November Session 1809 entitled an Act
relating to Constables Bonds and shall well and truly account for all money which he shall
receive on Judgments and shall well and truly pay over the same and shall faithfully perform
all acts which he shall perform in virtue of his office in the said County in the State
of Maryland then the above obligation to be void else to remain in full force & virtue
