An Act amending Section 1.117 "Leaves" of the Howard County Code to clarify the
bereavement leave provisions, to allow employees on paid jury leave to keep payments
received as jurors, to delete language which is no longer pertinent, and generally to clarify
language regarding employee leave.

AN EMERGENCY ACT TO:

(1)     Articulate the purpose of the rental assistance program;

(2)     Eliminate the expiration date of the rental assistance program;

(3)     Amend certain provisions of law governing eligibility for and payment of
rental assistance;

(4)     Specify the penalties for making certain false statements [[or giving fraudulent
information]] to induce payment of rental assistance;

(5)     Make certain provisions of law governing the rental assistance program
consistent with other provisions, and make stylistic and technical changes; and

(6)     Generally amend the provisions of law governing the rental assistance
program.
