(House Bill 789)

AN ACT concerning

Frederick County - Education - Noncertificated Public School Employees

FOR the purpose of requiring the Frederick County Board of Education to designate
certain organizations to serve as the exclusive representative of certain
noncertificated public school employees; and generally relating to public school
employees in Frederick County.

BY repealing and reenacting, with amendments,
Article - Education
Section 6-505(a)
Annotated Code of Maryland
(1992 Replacement Volume and 1993 Supplement)

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That the Laws of Maryland read as follows:

Article - Education

6-505.

(a) (1) Each public school employer may designate, as provided in this subtitle,
which employee organization, if any, shall be the exclusive representative of all public
school employees in a specified unit in the county.

(2) In Garrett County AND FREDERICK COUNTY, the public school
employer shall designate, as provided in this subtitle, which employee organization, if any,
shall be the exclusive representative of all public school employees in a specified unit in
the county.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall take effect
July 1, 1994.
