AN ACT concerning

Vehicle Laws - Vehicle Sales - Dealer Processing Fee Charge

FOR the purpose of placing a limitation on the amount of a dealer processing charge;
requiring a vehicle dealer to disclose, in a certain manner, the existence and the
amount of a dealer processing fee charge to be charged in connection with the sale
of a vehicle; defining a dealer processing fee charge; requiring an application for a
dealer's license to include a statement of the maximum dealer processing fee charge
to be charged by the dealer; requiring the contract for the sale of a vehicle to
contain a disclosure under this Act; providing that this Act may not be interpreted
to have any effect on a certain court case; and generally relating to the amount of a
dealer processing charge and the disclosure of the existence and amount of a dealer
processing fee charge to be charged in connection with the sale of a vehicle.

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That Section 15-311.1 of Article - Transportation of the Annotated Code
of Maryland be renumbered to be Section 15-311.2.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That the Laws of Maryland
read as follows:
