AN ACT concerning
Certification of Medical Radiation Technologists and
Nuclear Medical Technologists —Exemption
FOR the purpose of granting extending the date by which certain
medical radiation technologists and nuclear medical
technologists an exemption from are required to comply with
a certain certification requirement; and generally relating
to the practice of medical radiation technology and nuclear
medical technology individuals must be certified as medical
radiation technologists or nuclear medical technologists;
specifying that individuals certified by a certain
organization are to be considered certified by the Board;
requiring the Board to issue a certain certificate of
temporary authority to certain individuals; requiring the
Board to adopt certain standards for individuals issued
certificates of temporary authority; requiring the Board to
develop a certain examination; excepting certain individuals
from the provisions of this Act; and generally relating to
the practice of medical radiation technologists and nuclear
medical technologists.

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That the Laws of Maryland read as follows:
Article - Health Occupations
14-705.1.
(a) The Board of Medical Examiners shall:
(1) Define, for the purpose of this section, a
"medical radiation technologist", a "nuclear medical
technologist", "practice nuclear medical technology", and
"practice medical radiation technology";
(2) Adopt rules and regulations concerning
qualifications, training, certification, monitoring of, and
enforcement requirements for a medical radiation technologist and
a nuclear medical technologist; and
