VETOES

House Bill 1286, which was passed by the General Assembly and
signed by me on May 17, 1988, accomplishes the same purpose.
Therefore, it is not necessary for me to sign Senate Bill 574.

AN ACT concerning

Unemployment Insurance - Maximum Weekly Benefit Amounts
Benefits and Disqualifications

FOR the purpose of increasing the maximum weekly unemployment
insurance benefit amount to which certain eligible
individuals are entitled; altering the weekly allowance for
certain dependents of individuals who are eligible to
receive unemployment insurance benefits; disqualifying
certain individuals from receiving unemployment insurance
benefits; disqualifying certain individuals from receiving
unemployment insurance benefits under certain circumstances;
providing for certain effective dates of this Act; and
generally relating to unemployment insurance benefits and
disqualifications.

BY repealing and reenacting, with amendments,

Article 95A - Unemployment Insurance Law
Section 3(b)(1) and (c) and 20(1)
Annotated Code of Maryland
(1985 Replacement Volume and 1987 Supplement)

BY adding to

Article 95A - Unemployment Insurance Law

Section 6(i)

Annotated Code of Maryland

(1985 Replacement Volume and 1987 Supplement)

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That the Laws of Maryland read as follows:
