WILLIAM DONALD SCHAEFER, Governor Ch. 347

[(a) (1) The authority is created for the purpose of
constructing, improving, equipping, furnishing, maintaining,
acquiring and operating the following projects to be devoted
wholly or partially for public uses: Public buildings for the
use of the county AND A DISTRICT COURT FACILITY FOR THE STATE;
airports and landing fields; county institutions of every kind
and character (heretofore or hereafter constructed);
incinerators, bridges, toll bridges and tunnels; parks, swimming
pools, arenas, stadia and recreational facilities of all kinds;
dams, impounding basins and flood control projects; parking
facilities of every type and description, including areas,
structures and buildings for office, retail and other uses in
conjunction with such parking facilities; highways, parkways,
traffic distribution centers and facilities necessary or incident
thereto; and public transportation facilities and systems of
every kind and description.]

(A)(1) IN THIS SUBSECTION, "GOVERNMENTAL UNIT" MEANS:

(I) BALTIMORE COUNTY, THE STATE, ANY OTHER

COUNTY, A BI-COUNTY OR MULTI-COUNTY UNIT, A MUNICIPAL

CORPORATION, OR OTHER POLITICAL SUBDIVISION; OR

(II) AN INSTRUMENTALITY OR PUBLIC CORPORATION
OF A UNIT OF GOVERNMENT INCLUDED IN SUBPARAGRAPH (I) OF THIS
PARAGRAPH.

(2) THE AUTHORITY MAY CONSTRUCT, IMPROVE, EQUIP,
FURNISH, MAINTAIN, ACQUIRE, MANAGE, OPERATE, OR DEVELOP PROJECTS
PROVIDED IN PARAGRAPH (3) OF THIS SUBSECTION DEVOTED, WHOLLY OR
PARTLY, FOR A PUBLIC USE.

(3) PROJECTS AUTHORIZED IN PARAGRAPH (2) OF THIS
SUBSECTION ARE AS FOLLOWS:

(I) PUBLIC BUILDINGS, WHOLLY OR PARTLY, USED BY
A GOVERNMENTAL UNIT, INCLUDING COURTHOUSES, OFFICE BUILDINGS, AND
OTHER STRUCTURES;

(II) AIRPORTS AND LANDING FIELDS;

(III) INSTITUTIONS OWNED OR OPERATED BY A

GOVERNMENTAL UNIT;

(IV) INDUSTRIAL OR COMMERCIAL BUILDINGS OR

STRUCTURES;

(V) INCINERATORS;

(VI) BRIDGES, TOLL BRIDGES, AND TUNNELS;

(VII) PARKS;
