AN ACT concerning

Department of Housing and Community Development - Division of
Historical and Cultural Programs - Maryland Historical Trust
- Preservation of Historic Resources

FOR the purpose of changing the name of the Division of Cultural
Activities to the Division of Historical and Cultural
Programs; exempting undertakings subject to the National
Historic Preservation Act from certain provisions relating
to the preservation of historic property in accordance with
certain regulations to be adopted by the Trust; and
generally relating to the preservation of historic property,
the Maryland Historical Trust, and the Department of Housing
and Community Development.

BY repealing and reenacting, with amendments,

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That the Laws of Maryland read as follows:

Article 41B - Department of Housing and Community Development

5-101.

(a) There is a Division of [Cultural Activities] HISTORICAL
AND CULTURAL PROGRAMS as an organizational unit within the
Department of Housing and Community Development.

(b) The Division of [Cultural Activities] HISTORICAL AND
CULTURAL PROGRAMS includes:

(1) The St. Mary's City Commission;

(2) The Commission on Afro-American History and
Culture;

(3) The Commission on Indian Affairs;

(4) The Maryland Ethnic Heritage Commission; and.

(5) The Maryland Historical Trust.
