THE GOVERNOR'S COMMITTEE ON EMPLOYMENT OF THE HANDICAPPED

AMENDMENT

WHEREAS, On November 20, 1979, Executive Order 01.01.1979.23 was
promulgated to establish the Governor's Committee on
Employment of the Handicapped; and

WHEREAS, Executive Orders 01.01.1980.12 and 01.01.1983.22 were
promulgated to amend the Governor's Committee on Employment
of the Handicapped; and

WHEREAS, There is a need to strengthen and expand the Governor's
Committee on Employment of the Handicapped;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, HARRY HUGHES, GOVERNOR OF THE STATE OF
MARYLAND, BY VIRTUE OF THE AUTHORITY VESTED IN ME BY THE
CONSTITUTION AND LAWS OF MARYLAND, HEREBY PROMULGATE THE
FOLLOWING EXECUTIVE ORDER, RESCINDING EXECUTIVE ORDERS
01.01.1979.23 AND 01.01.1980.12 AND AMENDING EXECUTIVE ORDER
01.01.1983.22, AS FOLLOWS, EFFECTIVE IMMEDIATELY:

1.  There is a Governor's Committee on Employment of the
Handicapped.

2.  The Governor's Committee on Employment of the
Handicapped is affiliated with the President's Committee
on Employment of the Handicapped located in Washington,
D.C., and is affiliated with Maryland State government
as a miscellaneous agency housed within the Division of
Vocational Rehabilitation, Maryland State Department of
Education.

3.  The membership of the Committee shall consist of a total
of [31] 35 members including one representative from:

(a)  State Division of Vocation Rehabilitation

(b)  State [Employment Security Administration]
DEPARTMENT OF HUMAN RESOURCES

(c)  State Department of Personnel                                         

(d)  State Department of Education

(e)  Executive Department Office for [the] Handicapped
INDIVIDUALS

(f)  State Senate

(g)  State House of Delegates
