The Honorable Thomas V. Mike Miller
President of the Senate
State House
Annapolis, Maryland 21404
Dear Mr. President:
In accordance with Article II, Section 17 of the Maryland
Constitution, I have today vetoed Senate Bill 1063.
This bill authorizes the Harford County Sheriff to appoint
as a special deputy sheriff, the chief of police of a Harford
County municipality who is certified by the Maryland Police
Training Commission.
House Bill 1568, which was passed by the General Assembly
and signed by me on April 29, 1987, accomplishes the same
purpose. Therefore, it is not necessary for me to sign Senate
Bill 1063.
Sincerely,
William Donald Schaefer
Governor
