Ch. 478 LAWS OF MARYLAND
(b) (1) This section does not apply to:
(i) Unless the individual chooses to apply for
a license under this subtitle, an individual employed by any
agency of the federal government, county public school system,
State-approved nonpublic school for handicapped children, or
chartered educational institution of this State or the State
Department of Education while performing the duties of that
employment;
(ii) A student or trainee in speech-LANGUAGE
pathology while pursuing a supervised course of study at an
accredited university or college or a recognized training center;
and
(iii) A volunteer while working in free speech
and hearing screening programs.
(2) The Board may allow a speech-LANGUAGE pathologist
licensed in another state to practice speech-LANGUAGE pathology
in this State without a license if the speech-LANGUAGE
pathologist:
(i) Recently has become a resident of this
State; and
(ii) Has an application for a license pending
before the Board.

(a) To qualify for a license, an applicant shall be an
individual who meets the requirements, of this section.
(b) The applicant shall be of good moral character.
(c) The applicant shall:
(1) [Have a master's degree or its equivalent from an
educational institution with a graduate program recognized by the
Board in:
(i) Speech pathology; or
(ii) Any other subject, if the applicant has
taken courses in speech pathology that the Board finds sufficient
to qualify the applicant in speech pathology; and
(2) Have fulfilled the clinical experience,
employment, and additional educational requirements established
by rules and regulations adopted by the Board on the basis of
appropriate national standards.] HOLD A MASTER'S DEGREE OR ITS
