of their duties in accordance with the Standard Travel
Regulations.

(a) Subject to the provisions of [§ 14-606] § 5-206 OF THIS
SUBTITLE, the Commission has the powers and duties listed in this
section and elsewhere in this subtitle or delegated to it by the
Secretary [of Economic and Community Development].
(b) To acquire, develop, preserve, and maintain historic,
aesthetic, or cultural properties, buildings, fixtures,
furnishings, facilities, and appurtenances pertaining in any way
to historic St. Mary's City and its environs; and this provision
specifically includes the replica of the State House in St.
Mary's City.
(c) To acquire and hold real and personal property of such
historic, aesthetic, or cultural significance, by gift, purchase,
devise or bequest; to preserve and administer such properties and
to charge reasonable admission fees thereto. This power includes
that to acquire property in the vicinity of such property if
deemed necessary for the proper use and administration of
historic St. Mary's City and its environs.
(d) To accept gifts, legacies, bequests, and endowments for
any purpose which falls within that of the Commission; and unless
otherwise specified by the person making the gift, legacy,
bequest, or endowment, the Commission may expend both principal
and income of the gift, bequest, legacy, or endowment to further
the purposes of the Commission, or the Commission may invest the
funds or proceeds in whole or in part in general obligation bonds
of the State [of Maryland].
(e) To accept governmental grants from federal, State and
local governments and instrumentalities.
(f) To apply all moneys, assets, property, or other things
of value it may receive as an incident to its operation to the
general purposes of the Commission.
(g) To cooperate with and assist, insofar as practicable,
any agency of the State [of Maryland] or of any of its political
subdivisions, and any private agency or person, in furtherance of
the purposes of the Commission.
(h) To adopt and promulgate such rules as are necessary and
proper and not inconsistent with this subtitle for the operation
of the Commission and to effectuate the purposes of the
Commission.
