AN ACT concerning

CHAPTER 276
(Senate Bill 569)

Children's Trust Fund

FOR the purpose of establishing a children's trust fund to be
administered by the Office for Children and Youth; providing
that funds in the children's trust fund are supplemental to
certain other funds; requiring the Director of the Office
for Children and Youth to use the funds for certain
purposes; requiring the Director to establish a certain
panel; requiring the office to report to the Governor and
General Assembly on the use of the funds; and generally
relating to a children's trust fund.

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That the Laws of Maryland read as follows:

Article 49D - Office for Children and Youth

4A.

(A)  THERE IS A CHILDREN'S TRUST FUND.

(B)  IN ADDITION TO ANY FEDERAL FUNDS OR ANY FUNDS PROVIDED
IN THE STATE BUDGET, ANY GRANT OR GIFT TO THE STATE TO OR FOR THE
USE OF THE CHILDREN'S TRUST FUND SHALL BE TRANSFERRED CREDITED TO
THE CHILDREN'S TRUST FUND TO BE USED FOR THE PURPOSES STATED IN
THIS SECTION.

(C) GIFTS TO THE STATE TO OR FOR THE USE OF THE CHILDREN'S
TRUST FUND DO NOT REQUIRE THE ASSENT OF THE GOVERNOR.
