The Department of Agriculture shall conduct a public
information program on the overpopulation of dogs and cats and
related problems. The Department shall collect from public and
private animal control agencies and facilities statistics
concerning the numbers of these animals and their disposal, and
shall issue a quarterly press release on the findings.]
DRAFTER'S NOTE: This repeals § 2-108 of the Agriculture
Article, which expired June 30, 1981.
Ch. 600 of the Acts of the General Assembly of 1978
provided that § 2-108 "shall remain effective for a
period of three years and, at the end of June 30,
1981, and with no further action required by the
General Assembly, ... shall be abrogated and of no
further force and effect."
Although the Michie Company deleted § 2-108 from the
1985 Replacement Volume to the Agriculture Article, it
must be repealed legislatively.
The expiration of the section was noted by the Michie
Company.

(b) Rules, regulations and procedures adopted by the
foundation for the establishment and monitoring of agricultural
districts shall provide that:
(2) Upon receipt of a petition to establish an
agricultural district the local governing body shall refer the
petition and accompanying materials to both the agricultural
preservation advisory board and to the county planning and zoning
body.
(i) Within 60 days of the referral of a
petition, the agricultural preservation advisory board shall
advise the county governing body as to whether or not the land in
the proposed district meets the qualifications established by the
foundation under SUBSECTION (c) of this section, and whether or
not the advisory board recommends establishment of the district.
DRAFTER'S NOTE: This corrects a stylistic error in §
2-509(b)(2)(i) of the Agriculture Article.
The stylistic error occurred in Ch. 883 of the Acts of
the General Assembly of 1977.

(7) If the foundation approves the petition, the
