completed consultant study to a
joint legislative committee no
later than October 1, 1986. The
joint legislative committee shall
consist of members appointed from
the House Appropriations and
Senate Budget and Taxation
Committees. The consultant study
shall address: the organization,
management of the MED-EVAC
program, the MED-EVAC equipment
requirements including the need
for additional helicopters and
communication equipment, an
analysis of alternative types of
helicopters required for the
MED-EVAC system and/or other
state police missions, where the
helicopters should be stationed
or deployed, the training and
staffing of helicopter pilots and
MED-EVAC personnel and whether
pilots and medical technicians
who ride the helicopters should
be uniformed state police or
civilian personnel. The joint
legislative committee shall
review the consultant's
recommendations, make additional
recommendations as appropriate
and submit its recommendations
prior to the 1987 Session of the
General Assembly.
