VETOES
This bill provides for the establishment of a statewide
system of assistance by the Department of Health and Mental
Hygiene regarding the laboratory testing of rabid animals and
provides for the establishment of a statewide system of
assistance by the Department of Natural Resources regarding the
disposition of wild animals.
House Bill 799, which was passed by the General Assembly and
signed by me on May 27, 1986, accomplishes the same purpose.
Therefore, it is not necessary for me to sign Senate Bill 604.

AN ACT concerning
Wildlife Management - Reimbursement to Counties
FOR the purpose of providing for the establishment of a system of
reimbursement to local health and animal control departments
for the expense incurred in the disposition of wildlife,
including rabid animals; providing certain duties for the
Secretaries of Health and Mental Hygiene and Natural
Resources to carry out the purposes of this Act; and
generally relating to the reimbursement of local health and
animal control department for the expense incurred in the
disposition of rabid and other wildlife statewide system of
assistance by the Department of Health and Mental Hygiene
regarding the laboratory testing of rabid animals; and
providing for the establishment of a statewide system of
assistance by the Department of Natural Resources regarding
the disposition of wild animals in accordance with certain
agreements between the Department and the local political
subdivisions.
