AN ACT concerning
Plumbing - Powers of the Board of Commissioners
of Practical Plumbing Licenses
FOR the purpose of altering certain penalties for persons that
work at the plumbing business without being qualified;
permitting the Board of Commissioners of Practical Plumbing
to seek a permanent or temporary injunction from the
appropriate circuit court, if the Board concludes that
certain conduct will or has resulted in irreparable harm to
any person in this State; providing that the Board is not
required to file a bond when seeking an injunction against
certain entitles for certain alleged violations; requiring
the Board of Commissioners of Practical Plumbing to cause an
investigation to be conducted by certain entities on receipt
of a written complaint or on its own motion or on a referral
by those entities of allegations of prohibited acts;
requiring the Board of Commissioners to take necessary
action, after receiving the results of investigations by
those entities, to assure compliance with certain provisions
of law; requiring the Board of Commissioners to send to
those entities reasonable and prompt notification of the
action taken by the Board of Commissioners; requiring any
person, firm, or corporation engaging in the business of
practical plumbing to report within a certain period to the
appropriate authorities any change of name, address, or
employment from that which appears on their current license;
requiring any person, firm, or corporation engaging in the
business of practical plumbing to carry a certain amount of
general liability and property damage insurance; requiring
proof of the required insurance to be presented to the
appropriate licensing authorities; relieving licensees from
furnishing surety bonds under certain circumstances;
requiring licensees to give notice of cancellation of
required insurance to certain authorities by a certain date;
exempting certain license holders from the insurance
requirements; and generally relating to plumbing licenses.
