the survey and report its results, subject to § 2-1312 of the
State Government Article, to the General Assembly as soon as
possible but not later than December 1 of each year.
SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That the Laws of Maryland read as follows:

(A) THE DEPARTMENT SHALL CONDUCT ANNUALLY A SCIENTIFIC
SURVEY TO DETERMINE THE RELATIVE ABUNDANCE OF STRIPED BASS OR
ROCKFISH OF APPROXIMATELY 18 INCHES IN LENGTH THAT ARE IN THE
CHESAPEAKE BAY AND ITS TRIBUTARIES. THE SURVEY SHALL BE
CONDUCTED IN AREAS THAT ARE USED BY THE DEPARTMENT TO DETERMINE
ITS YOUNG-OF-THE-YEAR INDEX OF STRIPED BASS OR ROCKFISH.
(B) THE DEPARTMENT SHALL COMPLETE THE SURVEY AND REPORT ITS
RESULTS, SUBJECT TO § 2-1312 OF THE STATE GOVERNMENT ARTICLE, TO
THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY NOT LATER THAN DECEMBER 1 OF EACH YEAR.
SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall
take effect July 1, 1986.

AN ACT concerning
Oysters - Length of Harvesting Season
Catch Limits at Certain Times by Tonging,
Patent Tonging, and Diving
FOR the purpose of altering the seasonal dates between which a
person may catch oysters by tongs, patent tongs, or diving;
and making stylistic changes.
FOR the purpose of establishing certain catch limits for oysters
caught by tongs, patent tongs, and diving at certain times;
and generally relating to catch limits for oysters caught by
tongs, patent tongs, and diving at certain times of the
year.
BY repealing and reenacting, with amendments,
