CHAPTER 26

(Senate Bill 310)

AN ACT concerning

Education Accountability Task Force - Reporting Deadlines

FOR the purpose of altering the due dates for certain reports
required to be made by the Education Accountability Task
Force.

BY repealing and reenacting, with amendments,

Article - Education

Section 5-406

Annotated Code of Maryland

(1985 Replacement Volume and 1985 Supplement)

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That the Laws of Maryland read as follows:

Article - Education

5-406.

The Task Force shall:

(1)  Require the submission of an annual
accountability plan and report from each county board.

(2)  Not later than November 1 of each year provide
each county board with procedures to be followed in the
preparation of the annual accountability plan and report.

(3)  Require:

(i) That the annual accountability plan and
report shall relate to the use of:

1.  Any State share of basic current
expense as provided under Section 5-202(b), which is in excess of
the fiscal year 1984 State share of basic current expenses; and

2.  Any compensatory aid as provided under
Section 5-202(e), except for dedicated compensatory funds, 50
percent of funds received in fiscal year 1984 under targeted aid,
Section 5-202(e), and the difference between the funds received
in fiscal year 1985 and the current fiscal year under density
aid, § 5-202(c) of this title; and

(ii) That the annual accountability report
shall also relate to the expenditure for the current fiscal year
and 2 preceding fiscal years for the public education categories
