SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF

MARYLAND, That the Laws of Maryland read as follows:

Article - Health - General

Subtitle 2. [High Blood Pressure] CARDIOVASCULAR DISEASE

PREVENTION Programs.

13-201.

In this subtitle, "Commission" means the State [High Blood
Pressure] Commission ON HIGH BLOOD PRESSURE AND RELATED

CARDIOVASCULAR DISEASES RISK FACTORS.
13-202.

There is a State [High Blood Pressure] Commission ON HIGH

BLOOD PRESSURE AND RELATED CARDIOVASCULAR DISEASES RISK FACTORS.

13-205.

The Commission:

(1)  [Shall institute, supervise, and promote
educational programs for the public on the prevention and
treatment of high blood pressure] SHALL DEVELOP AND PROMOTE

EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMS IN THE PREVENTION AND TREATMENT OF HIGH
BLOOD PRESSURE AND RELATED CARDIOVASCULAR DISEASES RISK FACTORS;

and

(2)  May use existing programs and groups for this
purpose.

13-206.

(a) (1) The Commission shall establish guidelines for the
effective management and treatment of high blood pressure AND

RELATED CARDIOVASCULAR DISEASES RISK FACTORS.

(2) These guidelines shall cover:

(i) Detection;
(ii) Case finding;

(iii) Diagnosis;

(iv) Diagnostic work up;
(v) Therapy;

(vi) Long term management; and

(vii) Any other services that the Commission
thinks should be covered.
