EXECUTIVE ORDERS
E. The members of the Council may not receive any
compensation for their services. The members may
be reimbursed for their reasonable expenses
incurred in the performance of their duties, in
accordance with the standard travel regulations
and as provided in the budget; and
F. A majority of the Council shall constitute a
quorum for the transaction of any business.
IV. Effective Date
This Executive Order shall take effect on 1985.

THE UNITED CHARITY CAMPAIGN OF MARYLAND STATE
EMPLOYEES AND RETIREES - AMENDMENT
WHEREAS, The employees of the State of Maryland have long
demonstrated their commitment to the support of charitable
causes; and
WHEREAS, The State desires to continue to conduct a single annual
campaign which provides an opportunity for charitable
organizations to enjoy access to the State's voluntary
payroll deduction process and minimizes workplace disruption
and administrative costs to Maryland taxpayers; and
WHEREAS, Executive Order 01.01.1984.04 was issued to authorize
the United Charity Campaign of Maryland State Employees and
Retirees ("the Campaign") to be administered on an annual
basis by the Secretary of State in conformity with the
provisions of Executive Order 01.01.1983.03;
NOW, THEREFORE, I, HARRY HUGHES, GOVERNOR OF THE STATE OF
MARYLAND, BY VIRTUE OF THE AUTHORITY VESTED IN ME BY THE
CONSTITUTION AND LAWS OF MARYLAND, HEREBY ORDER AND DIRECT
THAT SECTIONS 3. AND 4. OF EXECUTIVE ORDER 01.01.1984.04 BE
AMENDED TO READ AS FOLLOWS:
Section 3.
In order to be designated as a participating agency in the
Campaign, a charitable organization shall apply to the
Secretary of State and shall:
A. Operate in compliance with all applicable federal, State
and local laws;
