committees composed of responsible persons in the county for the
purpose of advising the board on any matters relating to
administration of the alcoholic beverage laws. One member of the
regular board shall always be a member of that political party
which at the last preceding gubernatorial election polled the
second highest number of votes throughout the State for that
office.

158.

(n) (2) The inspectors shall each have all the powers of a
peace officer or a constable or sheriff of the State of Maryland,
and shall make oath to faithfully perform the duties entrusted to
them, as provided in Article I, [§ 6] § 9 of the MARYLAND
Constitution [of the State of Maryland]. The inspectors of Prince
George's County shall be known as "alcoholic beverage inspectors
for Prince George's [County."] COUNTY". The inspectors shall
have the duty of visiting and inspecting every licensed premises
in Prince George's County periodically and carrying on such other
duties as the board of license commissioners of Prince George's
County might prescribe. There shall be eight full-time and 12
part-time inspectors all of whom shall be residents of Prince
George's County, Maryland. All eight full-time inspectors who
meet the standards set out by the Prince George's County merit
board and who are certified by the personnel director as meeting
these standards shall be entitled to the provisions of the county
merit system. The board of license commissioners for Prince
George's County shall designate annually a chief inspector from
among the eight full-time inspectors. The chief inspector, under
the direction of the board of license commissioners, shall
regulate the duties, hours, and assignments of the various
inspectors.

(r) (1) The board of license commissioners of Wicomico
County shall appoint an inspector. His salary shall be as
provided in the county budget from time to time. The duties of
the inspector shall be as specified by the board of license
commissioners and be for the proper administration and
enforcement of the alcoholic beverage laws in Wicomico County.
For the purposes of the alcoholic beverages laws, the inspector
shall have all the powers of a peace officer or sheriff of the
State of Maryland. He shall make oath faithfully to perform the
duties entrusted to him, as provided in Article I, [§ 5] § 9 of
the MARYLAND Constitution [of Maryland]. The inspector shall
furnish a bond in the amount of $2,000 to the board of license
commissioners and Wicomico County, jointly, conditioned that he
will well and faithfully execute his office in all things
pertaining thereto. The cost of the bond shall be paid by
Wicomico County.

(1-a) The board of license commissioners of Wicomico
County shall also appoint a part-time inspector. His salary
shall be as provided in the county budget from time to time. The
duties of the part-time inspector shall be as specified by the
board of license commissioners and be for the proper
