AN ACT concerning

Fishing - Equipment Changes for Commercial
Licensees - Rules and Regulations

FOR the purpose of providing for the effective date for certain
rules or regulations the Department of Natural Resources
adopts concerning changes in the equipment that is more
restrictive and that is required for use by a commercial
licensee; and providing an exemption for certain emergency
rules or regulations that the Department of Natural
Resources adopts.

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That the Laws of Maryland read as follows:

Article - Natural Resources

4-103.

(A)  THIS SECTION DOES NOT APPLY TO AN EMERGENCY RULE OR
REGULATION THAT THE DEPARTMENT ADOPTS.

(B)  IF THE DEPARTMENT ADOPTS A RULE OR REGULATION THAT IS
MORE RESTRICTIVE AND VARIES ANY EQUIPMENT THAT A COMMERCIAL
WATERMAN IS REQUIRED TO USE UNDER SUBTITLES 7, 8, 9, AND 10 OF
THIS TITLE, THE RULE OR REGULATION IS NOT EFFECTIVE UNTIL 12
MONTHS AFTER NOTICE OF FINAL ADOPTION OF THE RULE OR REGULATION
IS PUBLISHED IN THE MARYLAND REGISTER OR ITS PERMANENT
SUPPLEMENT.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall
take effect July 1, 1984.
