AN ACT concerning
Cecil County - Volunteer Length of Service Award Program
FOR the purpose of permitting the Cecil County Commissioners to
establish and fund a Volunteer Length of Service Award
Program for certain members of volunteer fire departments,
rescue squads, and ambulance corps in Cecil County;
providing certain service credits for persons subject to the
provisions of this Act; providing that the County
Commissioners, by resolution, may adopt bylaws for the
Program; providing that certain specific provisions may be
included in the bylaws; providing that certain
administrative and recordkeeping responsibilities of the
Program may be delegated by the County Commissioners;
providing that the Program may be funded within certain
restrictions from general revenue county funds or any other
available source; and generally relating to the
establishment of a Volunteer Length of Service Award Program
in Cecil County.

Section 32.5 to be under the new subtitle "Volunteer Length
of Service Award Program"

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That the Laws of Maryland read as follows:
Article 25 - County Commissioners
VOLUNTEER LENGTH OF SERVICE AWARD PROGRAM
32.5.
(A) IN CECIL COUNTY THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS MAY
ESTABLISH AND FUND A VOLUNTEER LENGTH OF SERVICE AWARD PROGRAM
FOR QUALIFIED MEMBERS OF VOLUNTEER FIRE DEPARTMENTS, RESCUE
SQUADS, AND AMBULANCE CORPS.
(B) THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS, BY RESOLUTION, MAY
ADOPT BYLAWS FOR A VOLUNTEER LENGTH OF SERVICE AWARD PROGRAM.
(C) IN THE BYLAWS, THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS MAY:
(1) DEFINE TERMS;
