3854 JOINT RESOLUTIONS
(1) 2 members of the Senate of Maryland, appointed by
the President of the Senate;
(2) 2 members of the House of Delegates, appointed by
the Speaker of the House of Delegates;
(3) 2 members 1 member from the Professional Victim
Service Providers in the State;
(4) 2 members of the public appointed by the Governor
who are familiar with victim services;
(5) A representative, appointed by the Governor, from
each of the following agencies:
(i) The State Department of Human Resources;
and
(ii) The Maryland Criminal Justice Coordinating
Council; and
(iii) The State Attorney General's office.
(6) A practicing attorney appointed by the Governor
who has been involved in the advocacy on behalf of victims of
crime within the State
(iii) The State's Attorney's Association; and
(iv) The Judiciary; and be it further
RESOLVED, That the Governor appoint a chairman and vice
chairman from the members of the Task Force; and be it further
RESOLVED, That the Governor shall appoint the Task Force by
July 1, 1984 and that the Task Force shall present a preliminary
report to the Governor and the General Assembly by January 1,
1985 and its final report by July 31, 1985; and be it further
RESOLVED, That the Department of Legislative Reference
should provide staff for the Task Force; and be it further
RESOLVED, That copies of this Resolution be sent to: the
Honorable Harry Hughes, Governor of Maryland; the Honorable
Melvin Steinberg, President of the Senate of Maryland; the
Honorable Benjamin L. Cardin, Speaker of the House of Delegates;
the Honorable Ruth Massinger, Secretary, Department of Human
Resources, 1100 North Eutaw Street, Baltimore, Maryland 21201;
the Honorable Thomas W. Schmidt, Secretary of Public Safety and
Correctional Services, One Investment Place, Suite 500, Towson,
Maryland 21204.
