(3) AFTER JULY 1, 1985, AN EMPLOYER MAY NOT POSSESS
OR KEEP ANY ITEM OF NEW OR USED ASBESTOS PROTECTIVE CLOTHING IN
ANY PLACE OF EMPLOYMENT.
(C) AFTER JULY 1, 1984, AND UNTIL JULY 1, 1985, ANY
EMPLOYER WHO REQUIRES OR REQUESTS ANY EMPLOYEE TO USE ANY ITEM OF
NEW OR USED ASBESTOS PROTECTIVE CLOTHING SHALL:
(1) INFORM THE EMPLOYEE OF SUCH USE AND THE
ASSOCIATED HEALTH HAZARDS;
(2) KEEP RECORDS AS REQUIRED BY THE COMMISSIONER OF
SUCH USE; AND
(3) PROVIDE RESPIRATORY PROTECTION IF SUCH USE
RESULTS IN AN ASBESTOS EXPOSURE LEVEL IN THE PLACE OF EMPLOYMENT
OF 0.5 FIBERS (LONGER THAN 5 MICROMETERS), OR MORE, PER CUBIC
CENTIMETER AS AN 8-HOUR TIME-WEIGHTED AVERAGE.
(D) (1) THE COMMISSIONER SHALL ENFORCE THIS SECTION AND MAY
ADOPT REGULATIONS FOR THE IMPLEMENTATION OF THIS SECTION.
(2) ENFORCEMENT AND IMPLEMENTATION OF THIS SECTION
ARE SUBJECT TO THE PROVISIONS OF THIS SUBTITLE.
SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall
take effect July 1, 1984.

State Government Article - Legislative Issues
FOR the purpose of deleting in the new State Government Article
attendance and removal provisions relating to the Joint
Budget and Audit Committee; altering the Joint Budget and
Audit Committee's duties; specifying the quorum necessary
for the Joint Committee on the Management of Public Funds
the manner in which its meetings are called and a quorum;
specifying the fiscal note and actuarial notices process and
employee probationary status and removal provisions of the
Department of Fiscal Services and specifying the duties of
the Department of Legislative Reference; deleting provisions
as to attendance of officers of the preceding General
Assembly; altering a duty of the Legislative Accounting
Office; altering the duties of the Secretary of State and
