clause of the first sentence of (c).

Article 65 - Militia

7.

[The Governor shall have power, by executive order, to
organize, arm and equip a naval militia, and to provide for the
administration and discipline thereof, conforming as nearly as
practicable to the federal laws and regulations now in effect, or
hereafter enacted.

Provided, that all of the] THE several sections of this
article that are applicable to [such] THE naval militia ORGANIZED
UNDER § 3-303 OF THE STATE GOVERNMENT ARTICLE shall have the same
force and effect as if the term naval militia had been
specifically designated in any or all of such sections.

REVISOR'S NOTE: Ch. ____, Acts of 1984, which enacted the

State Government Article, also amended this section to
delete the first paragraph, which provided for
organization of a naval militia and now appears in SG
§ 3-303.

Ch. ____ also substituted the reference to "the naval

militia organized under § 3-303 of the State
Government Article" for the former reference to "such
naval militia", for clarity.

Article 70 -- Official Oaths

14. STATE COMPTROLLER.

ON OR AS SOON AS PRACTICABLE AFTER THE 3RD MONDAY OF JANUARY
NEXT AFTER THE ELECTION FOR COMPTROLLER, THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE
FOR THAT OFFICE SHALL QUALIFY BY TAKING THE OATH THAT THE
MARYLAND CONSTITUTION REQUIRES.

REVISOR'S NOTE: Ch. ____, Acts of 1984, which enacted the

State Government Article, also enacted this section,
which is derived without substantive change from the
first clause of former Art. 19, § 1.

The former reference to filing a bond is deleted as
unnecessary in light of SG § 4-102.

The former requirement that the oath be taken "before
the Governor" is deleted as unnecessary in light of §
2 of this article.
