The Honorable Thomas V. Mike Miller, Jr.
President of the Senate
State House
Annapolis, MD 21401
Dear Mr. President:
In accordance with Article II, Section 17 of the Maryland Constitution, today I have
vetoed Senate Bill 323 - Maryland Food Center Authority - Technical Changes.
This bill clarifies that the Governor may appoint eight members to the Maryland
Food Center Authority; authorizes ex officio Authority members to name designees;
repeals specified provisions of law establishing an advisory council to the Authority;
and provides for the issuance of federally taxable or tax-exempt bonds authorizing
the use of specified revenues for the operation, improvement, maintenance, and
protection of developments or projects.
House Bill 881, which was passed by the General Assembly and allowed to go into
effect without my signature, accomplishes the same purpose. Therefore, it is not
necessary for me to sign Senate Bill 323.
Very truly yours,
Robert L. Ehrlich, Jr.
Governor
Senate Bill No. 323
