       did devise unto his son Thomas Knighton the afd Tract of
       Land called Marshes Seat according to the Survey of the old
       Patent  To have and to hold the same unto his said son
       Thomas and the heires Males of his body Lawfully begotten
       to the Tenth Son and severall Remainders over and also did
       devise the other Tract of Land by him purchased of your
       Orat.r as afd by the name of Gadshill containing 140 Acres
       according to the Survey of the New Patent to his son George
       Knighton to hold the same to him and the heires Males of his
       body Lawfully begotten to the Tenth Son for lack of which to
       remain over to his daughter Sarah & the heires Males of her body
       Lawfully begotten to the Tenth Son and for want of such to his
       daughter Elizabeth and her heires for ever since which the said
       Thomas Knighton the Elder is dead and likewise his daughter
       son George and daughter Sarah are both dead without any
       Issue Male  And the Said Elizabeth having fee thereof under the
       Proprietary together with her now husband George Simons of
       Ann Arundell County Planter by Indenture made between
       them and Your Excys orat.r duely Executed Acknowledged and
       Recorded bearing date the Twentieth day of October 1701 have
       Granted Bargained and Sold released and Confirmed to your
       orat.r for and in Consideration of the sum of fifty pounds sterl
       by him to them in hand paid the afd Tract of Land called
       Gadshill lying in Ann Arundell County afd and beginning at
       a bounded white oake standing in the west line of the
       Land late of James Maxwell and on the South side of a
       Branch called Parkers Branch and running west one
       hundred perches to a bounded white oake standing In the Lyne
       of the Land called Kickcoetans Choice then North with the
