694) Maryland Calv.t County fs Jan.ry 8.th 1710/11 The test of Peter Sawell of the aboves.d County being a Quaker Aged thirty Nine Years or thereabouts who Declares before God and the world that about Twenty Nine Years since (to his best remembrance) his brother John Sawell had a Warrant of Resurvey upon the Land Called Ceader Branch (Comonly called Chaplaines Land) and Col.o Ninian Beale the Surveyor being Runing a Line from the River Side into the woods and having Runn the precise Number of Perches it fell Short of the Place where the old Standards Said the bound tree of the above Said Land Stood therefore the went to the orchard of one William Pritchett where the abovesaid Peter Sawell See the Stump of a tree Standing between a Redbudd tree and a Mulberry (Now Standing Which the Generality of the Persons then Present) Viz.t Michael Taney Sen.r Edward Pack Sen.r Thomas Sedgwick Sen.r & Edward Cowdery did Say ^was^ one of the bound trees of the aboves.d Land and further he saith not Peter Sawell (S) Attested before us John Dansey Hen Pereg Jowles |
