571 Standing on a point at y.e Moût of y.e Cove Afd Supposed to be y.e beginning Bounded Tree of Wades point as Afd & further saith not The Test taken According to Act of parliam.t before us John Hawkins the 30.th Day of Aprile Anno Dom 1707 M.oos Warde Talbot fs The Deposition of Edw.d Elliot Sen.r Aged about Sixty and Eight years Saith That he this Dep.t being psent when Cap.t James Mûrphey and M.r Hugh Sherwood did Examine Tho.s Mason and Jn.o Hollinsworth as Evidences to prove the bounded trees of a Tract of Land Called Wades point The S.d Evidences (being Sworn by y.e s.d James Mûrphey) upon their Oath did say y.t they had formerly Seen a bounded Oak tree Standing upon a point att y.e Moûth of a Cove which Tree was repûted and deemed to be the first bounded Tree of y.e s.d Land called Wades point Which s.d Cove this Dep.t Saith is y.e Cove at y.e head of Which Ennion Williams's planta.on is now Situated And further Saith y.t the s.d Jn.o Hollinsworth did Say he lived Some time on y.e other Side of y.e s.d Cove directly opposite to y.e s.d bounded Tree and that he thoûght he could have Shott a bullett from his Dwelling hoûse into y.e s.d Tree And further this Dep.t Saith y.t y.e Afd Tho.s Mason Said y.t (at severall times whilest he was a Serv.t to Cap.t W.m Leeds was owned y.e s.d Land) he had piped Tobo and Worked ûnder or aboût y.e s.d Tree And as to y.e Second bounded Tree this Dep.t Saith that being once Sûmmoned ûpon a Jury ^in^ of a Resurvey of y.e s.d Land Called Wades point he did See a pine tree att y.e Moûth of a Swampy Gully on y.e Bay Side which by Some Marks upon it did Appear to be a bounded tree and was att that time reputed to be y.e Second bounded Tree of y.e s.d Land Called Wades point and y.e first bounded Tree of a Tract of Land Called Haddon and further Saith not Sworn to before ûs y.e 30.th Day of Aprile Anno Dom 1707 John Hawkins Talbot fs M.oos Warde The Deposition of Edw.d Hambleton of Talbot County planter Aged 36 Years Saith That he being psent when y.e Evidences were Sworn (by Cap.t James Mûrphey and M.r Hugh Sherwood) to prove y.e bounded trees of a Tract of Land Called Wades point did hear Jn.o Hollinsworth Say y.t he y.e s.d Hollinsworth had formerly Seen a bounded Oake Tree Standing on a point at y.e moûth of a Cove which was repûted and deemed to be a bounded tree of y.e s.d Land And further that he y.e s.d Hollinsworth had lived some time on y.e other Side of y.e s.d Cove directly Opposite to y.e s.d bounded Tree and y.t he did believe he could have Shott a bullett from his dwelling house into y.e s.d Tree And y.t he this Dep.t did hear Tho.s Mason who was his wife one of y.e Evidences ûpon his Oath declare y.t dureing y.e time he was a Serv.t to Cap.t W.m Leeds who was then the Owner of y.e s.d Land he |
