487 to a bounded White Oake that standeth near an Ashen Swamp in an Indian field which swamp being the fourth swamp above a high Poynte of Land now known and called by the Name of the hollowing pointe in the said Rozers Land that the said Addison demanded of Cap.t George Thompson being the first Taker up of the said Land Called Admireathorea and being brought there as an Evidence to testify the bounds Whether he thought that to be the first bound Tree and begining of the aforesaid Tract of Land Who taking off his Hatt and laying his hand on the said bound Tree did Declare in the p.rsence of God Allmighty that he did Really in his Conscience believe that to be the very Tree being asked by the said Addison whether they crossed any Ashen Swamp in Running the first Course did answer that they Ran a streight East North East Course neither Travissing nor Crossing any swamp but Run on firm dry Ground a little ascending to the Second Tree being a white oake June y.e 23.d 1702 Coll.o Jn.o Addison having obtaind a Comon out of the high Court of Chancery to sumons the above named Cap.t George Thompson to give his Evidence to the aboves.d Tree When Jn.o Norris and myself with sev.rall others was ag.n with y.e s.d Thompson at the said white oake where he ag.n made oath to the said Tree to the same purpose as above Adding he was confirmed thereto by the knowledge he had of the adjacent Land and Swamp and Said the oftner he came on the plane the more he was confirmed that that was the Tree and no other and carrying us up the River about a hundred Yards to the Northward to another Tree that is notched on four sides w.ch had been shown him by M.r Rozer and M.r William Clarkson and did then positively declare as he was upon his oath that that was none of the Tree but the White oake w.ch stands by the swamp side was the very Tree he caused to be bounded for the beginning Tree of the said land he being then positive to the Ground that if that was not the very Tree he was sure and confident it did stand within Twenty or Twenty five paces of that Tree neither to the Northward Eastward nor Southward but if any way to the Westward nearer the River Att w.ch he declared upon oath and further Saith not the mark of Allexander H Hurbert John Norris Sen.r Aged fifty Years or thereabouts being sworn before us upon the Holy Evangelists Saith that he was with M.r Notly Rozer and Coll.o Jn.o Addison when the said Rozer caused M.r William Hutchison to Run out his Land Called Admireathora and being brought to a bounded white oake That standeth near an Ashen Swamp in an Indian field w.ch swamp being the swamp above a high pointe of Land now known and called by the name of the hollowing Point in the said Rozer's Land; that the said Addison demanded of Cap.t George Thompson being the first Taker up of the afd Land called Admireathora and being brought there an Evidence to testifie the bounds Whether he thought that to be the first bound Tree and beginning of the afores.d Tract of Land Who taking off his Hatt and laying his hand on the said bound Tree did declare in the p.rsence of God Allmighty that he did really in his Conscience believe that to be the very Tree Being allso asked by the said Addison whether they crossed any Ashen Swamp in Running the first Course did answer that they Run a streight East North East Course neither Travissing nor Crossing any Swamp June y.e 23.d 1702 Coll.o Jn.o Addison having obtained a Comcon out of the high Court of Chanc.ry to sumons the above Cap.t George Thompson to give his Evidence to the abovesaid Tree When I was ag.n with the said Thompson at the said White Oake Where again he made Oath |
