       this Province of Maryland bearing date the seaventh Day of January in y.e
       Eight and twentyeth yeare of the Dominion of Cæcilius of Noble memory Anno
       Domini One thousand six hundred Fifty nine was given unto Cap.t Thomas
       Howell deceased All that parcell of Land called Farley Lying on the east side
       of Chesepeake bay and on the south side of a Creeke called Fendalls Creeke
       Containing six hundred and fifty Acres more or lesse and the said Thomas
       Howell as his Lopp the Lord Prop.ry of this Province was informed haveing
       surreptitiously obtained a Pattent for the said parcell of Land Contrary to the
       Condicons of Plantacon of the said Cæcilius of noble Memory Comand was given
       to the then sheriffe of Cæcill County That by good and Lawfull men of his
       Baliwick hee should make Knowne to the heires of the said Thomas Howell
       or to the heires of James Browne late Deceased that they be and appeare
       before the Lordshipps Justices in his high Court of Chancery held att the
       Citty of S.t Maryes the fourth Day of Aprill Anno 1676 to shew Cause
       (If any they had) why the said Letters Pattent should not be Vacated & adnulled
       & the said Land into the said Lopps hands be seized  And further to doe and
       Receive what the said Court should Doe or Cause to be Done in that
       behalfe and how hee should Execute that writt that hee should make it appeare
       to the said Court the day aforesaid Att w.ch said fourth day of Aprill in the
       yeare aforesaid The same sheriffe made a returne of the writ aforesaid Endorsed the
       One and thirtyeth day of March 1676 That by vertue thereof hee had warned
       the heires of Cap.t Thomas Howell lately deceased but for the heires of James
       Browne they were not to be found within the Baliwick Att w.ch said fourth day
       of Aprill the heires of the said Thomas Howell Came not but made Default
       And afterwards (to witt) the eleaventh day of the same aprill the said Court
       not being fully informed of the truth of the premisses were of Oppinion that the
       said Grant was surreptitiously obtained Contrary to the Condicons of Plantacon
       of the said Cæcilius of noble memory and therefore Did Order that Philip Calvert
       Esq.r Chancello.r of the said Province should Vacate the aforesaid Pattent Upon
       Record and did adjudge the said Land to be and of right ought to be seized in One
       Right of the Now Lord Proprietary of this Province  And thereupon the said
       Lord Prop.ry for and In Consideracon of the full Quantity of Twenty five thousand
       pounds of Tobacco to him in hand payd by Richard Pullen in Cæcill County in the
       said Province Did by his Letters Pattent under the greate seale of his said
       province Bearing date the sixth Day of June Annoq Domini One thousand six
       hundred seaventy nine Grant unto him the said Richard Pullen All the aforesaid pcell
       of Land Called Farley unduely and Contrary to right as by the Complaint of
       John Browne the Father of the said James Browne his Lordshipp hath received
