interests of the State that all bids be rejected, the Board
may reject all bids and thereafter negotiate the sale of any
part or all of the bonds at a private sale, upon the best
terms that can be obtained as to price, rates of interest,
and dates of payment.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act
shall take effect June 1, 1982.

CHAPTER 720

(House Bill 1492)

AN ACT concerning

State Police - Benefits

FOR the purpose of providing that any health care benefits
that a member of the State Police Retirement System

receives may not be reduced by any workmen's

compensation benefits in the State Police Retirement
System the retirement allowance reduction for workmen's
compensation benefits may not exceed a certain amount.

BY repealing and reenacting, with amendments,

Section 53(7a)

Annotated Code of Maryland

(1979 Replacement Volume and 1981 Supplement)

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That section(s) of the Annotated Code of Maryland
read(s) as follows:

Article 88B - State Police

53.

(7a) Any pension allowance shall be reduced by the
amount of any workmen's compensation benefits paid or
payable after the effective date of retirement on account of
an accidental personal injury or occupational disease
arising out of and in the course of the retired member's
employment by the State if such workmen's compensation
benefits are paid or payable for a period during which a
pension allowance is paid or payable. HOWEVER, ANY HEALTH
CARE BENEFITS PROVIDED TO MEMBERS MAY NOT BE REDUCED BY ANY
