[(e) Until the Commission passes an order under §
14-506 of this subtitle, each related investigation, report,
and recommendation is confidential.]
[(f)] (E) (1) To facilitate the investigation and
prosecution of disciplinary matters coming before it, the
Commission may:
(i) Contract with the Faculty, its
committees, and the component medical societies for the
purchase of investigatory and related services; and
(ii) Contract with others for the purchase
of investigatory and related services and make these
services available to the Faculty, its committees, and the
component medical societies.
(2) Services that may be contracted for under
this subsection include the services of:
(i) Investigators;
(ii) Attorneys;
(iii) Accountants;
(iv) Expert witnesses; and
(v) Consultants.
[(g)] (F) The Commission may issue subpoenas and
administer oaths in connection with any investigation under
this section and any hearing or proceeding before it.

(A) IN THIS SECTION, "RECORD" MEANS THE PROCEEDINGS,
RECORDS, OR FILES OF THE COMMISSION.
(B) EXCEPT AS OTHERWISE EXPRESSLY PROVIDED IN THIS
SECTION, THE COMMISSION OR ANY OF ITS INVESTIGATORY BODIES
MAY NOT DISCLOSE ANY INFORMATION CONTAINED IN A RECORD.
(C) THE COMMISSION MAY SHALL DISCLOSE ANY INFORMATION
CONTAINED IN A RECORD TO A COMMITTEE OF A HOSPITAL OR
RELATED INSTITUTION IF:
(1) A COMMITTEE OR A MEDICAL STAFF THE COMMITTEE
OF A MEDICAL HOSPITAL STAFF CONCERNED WITH PHYSICIAN
DISCIPLINE OR OTHER COMMITTEE OF A HOSPITAL OR RELATED
INSTITUTION REQUESTS THE INFORMATION IN WRITING;
